Iconic outback rodeo makes a comeback in the Red Centre|
Many people in the Northern Territory have fond memories of the rodeos that ran at Blatherskite Park in Alice Springs. Some people even found love.
The rodeo has been missing in the Alice since 2013, but all that is about to change.
Construction will soon get underway to upgrade the facilities at Blatherskite Park with the local Apex benefitting from an NT Government grant.
Apex club president Neil Egan said it was hoped construction would finish by Christmas and the first rodeo would be held in the first half of 2018.
"For us to run rodeos we needed to demolish and upgrade the existing loading ramp, new tower, new chutes and upgrade the yards as well," Mr Egan said.
